Cost Threshold For Parallelism
Alert 2028 is a SQL instance alert and is triggered when dbOmnibus detects a potential problem with the configured Cost Threshold For Parallelism value.
The default (installed) values is 5. If the server has 4 or more CPU cores and MaxDOP is not set to 1, this value is typically set to 50. Mileage may vary.
As with any setting on a working server, research a best value and test / watch it closely to ensure the server does not begin performing badly or worse that it was before a change.
