SQL Server Express

SQL Server Express edition is a fine product for what it is designed to be. it is a great free product for learning SQL Server and small implementations. It is not a good fit for serious use where it is important to ensure fast, reliable operation.

dbOmnibus does support SQL Server Express but with several limitations.

SQL Server Express does not have SQL Agent and DBMail and therefor limits the capabilities of dbOmnibus.

The SQL Agent limitation can be worked around by using Windows Task Scheduler to capture data.
